Back Again!

December 19th, 2010

Yes, this “ezine” has been getting the back burner for a while now. So much has been going on for me lately. The recording with Rebel Bass form the last post was completed and the other band, Hot Bag O’ Donuts has played many gigs this last year and we have a pretty good line-up now and some subs as well.

With a year between posts it’s hard to sum up but I started performing in a group out at New Salem called New Salem Harmony. I do reading of quotes from people around the time of New salem during a script written around songs and dances from that time period. I joined the Prairie Art Alliance and have helped to form the Access 4 Producers Group non-profit in which I was elected Treasurer. I also have been helping organize a series of art shows in Springfield, Illinois called Third Thursday Art Show.

I have a lot to share here and I hope to get that done in the near future but I know how my promises might sound right now. but still. Even if I don’t there is quite a lot of info here that I have collected. Soon I also need to clean up the links in the left hand column. I apologize for the broken ones.

Please email me if you have any questions.

VACATION IS OVER!!

November 23rd, 2009

Yes I have not posted anything since last May. That was around the time that I was working on As You Like It at UIS Theatre (which received the best dramatic production from Illinios Times ‘Best of’ for 2009).

One thing after another came since then including another production at New Salem in which In portrayed Abraham Lincoln’s father, Tom, in a production of the play ‘Heritage.’ I also began to play ukulele and also performed as the opening act for three other productions during the summer at New Salem.

I was offered a booth at the Decatur Celebration as part of their Lincoln Bicentennial section to display my artwork and portraits of Lincoln. After all of these events I had to complete work that had accumulated during that time as well as putting together a combo around my uke playing and starting recording session with the band I drum for, Rebel Bass.

Today I will be working to get this site going again. there are a lot of stories I was sharing on FaceBook during this time for those who are interested. My FaceBook profile is here.

I have never received any offers or suggestions for featured artist so I believe I will begin to open the front page picture to other purposes as well as showcasing art that I come across.

Notes from the Admin

December 21st, 2008

I had to install a new blog for updates to TheSpectra.net Mambo CMS. Obviously there are a lot of outdated links in the menus and various other updates that need completed but all is underway. In fact the network is getting updates all over as I add a new personal bLog and Notes bLog as well as a new shopping cart and the requisite icons etc. etc.

It came to my attention just a few days ago that there were messages sent from users on the Mambo CMS that were asking how they could upload news. All that is required for that is for you to send a request, preferably to eted[at]tedkeylon[dot]com. Unfotunately emails aer sometimes sent to admin[at]thespectra[dot]net and I forget to look there and have not figured out how or if I can change that setting. At any rate I will try to keep my eye on it and if you don’t get an answer you might try dropping me a line at eted[at]tedkeylon[dot]com just in case because I check that box every day. Also, all contact info for me is always available at http://www.TedKeylon.com as well.
